Business Council of Cohoes
The Business Council of Cohoes’ mission is to:
- improve and continue to expand the business climate of Cohoes for its members.
- promote the City of Cohoes and the Tech Valley region through business networking.
- support a strong relationship between the business, nonprofit, education and cultural sectors as business and community leaders.
Membership is largely composed of businesses in Cohoes, but is open to all Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber members interested in enhancing the city’s role in Tech Valley. Many of the council's programs are ideal for solo entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The BCC hosts monthly breakfast programs, the Swing and a Miss Golf Tournament for beginning golfers, a breakfast with Assemblyman Ron Canestrari, the State of the City address with Mayor John McDonald and an annual networking event and show at Cohoes Music Hall. Sponsorship opportunities are available for each of these events. Contact Jennifer Sims at (518) 431-1418 for more information.
The council also plays an active part in the community by supporting many of its activities. The Steering Committee is made of representatives not only from local businesses, but also from city government, education, the arts and nonprofit organizations. There is a report from major city functions at Steering Committee meetings and monthly breakfast meetings to help members stay informed. BCC also works hard in keeping the city involved in the happenings of our region.
