Education Initiatives

Albany Colonie Chamber Education InitiativesThe Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber’s education initiatives foster world class educational opportunities throughout the Tech Valley region, prepare students for the jobs of the future and assist leaders in business, education and government to work together effectively to build tomorrow’s workforce that will support the region’s growing high-tech economy.

Statistics show that the number of science and math degrees among U.S. college graduates are among the lowest of any nation and many companies throughout the country are struggling to find qualified candidates for essential high-tech jobs.

The Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber is actively working to help educators prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s job market.

In 2003, the Chamber launched its FAMtask initiative to bring key education, community and business leaders together to discuss, outline and address the challenge of attracting and retaining the talent that will continue to solidify Tech Valley as a world-class center for technology.

The result has been a series of events and programs that are engaging students – and educators – with innovative activities that help make science and math come to life.
