13 May 2009

by: Center for Economic Growth

Economic Development organizations from across New York State have come together again to collaborate on a large scale marketing initiative, this time in our own Buffalo, NY. Under the NY Loves Clean Tech banner, the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), Buffalo Niagara Enterprise (BNE), Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), Upstate Creative Core Team, Utica (Mohawk Valley EDGE), and the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (Long Island) will showcase the breadth and scope of New York’s research and development, skilled workforce, clustering of companies, high quality of life and available sites/buildings for renewable energy investments and growth.

“Expanding and promoting clean tech opportunities in Tech Valley at national marketing venues, is a strategic initiative of CEG this year,” states F. Michael Tucker, President and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth, the Capital Region non-profit development agency. “We are pleased to have such a broad representation from New York State.”

The SOLAR 2009 conference and trade show May 11-16th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center is America’s leading conference on the emerging trends, technology and opportunities in the renewable energy sector. In its 38th year, the event will showcase over 150 exhibitors from across the nation and a cutting edge conference series featuring leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs shaping the industry. This event will provide the forum for the New York team to engage in discussions about opportunities all across the State in the key areas of PV/solar, biofuels, wind and fuel cell.

National Grid is once again the major sponsor of this initiative while the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is the statewide team partner.
