The Steering Committee is made up of the YPN chair, immediate past chair and the committee chairs. The committee works on long-range planning, providing guidance to the overall network, monitoring the progress of all the committees and building community partnerships. Committee members develop strategies for increasing membership engagement and retaining a young talented workforce in Tech Valley by serving as a catalyst to connect, develop and empower young professionals.

The Program Committee plans and implements professional development programs at unique venues in Tech Valley. Some specific responsibilities include: attending program committee meetings, brainstorming topics and potential speakers, act as the point person for a specific program, moderate a program, attending a majority of the programs, assisting with marketing efforts, etc.

The Membership/Communications Committee is designed to retain and increase the YPN membership. Committee members encourage new memberships and help engage existing members. In addition to recruiting, the committee develops marketing strategies and effective marketing campaigns. Responsibilities include: attending a majority of the programs, contacting new members and inviting them to future events, engagement on social media sites, attending brainstorming sessions, and sharing feedback with the committee chair.

The Executive Mentorship Program connects ambitious, young professionals with seasoned, high-level business leaders charged with supporting them in their professional and personal development. The Executive Mentorship Program is a cornerstone of YPN’s goal of developing the skills of young professionals. Responsibilities include: attending the mentorship programs, developing strategies to promote mentorship initiatives, provide structured mentorship programs, recruit new mentors and mentees, follow-up with mentors and mentees on a quarterly basis, etc.
