2013 Women of Excellence Announced 
Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber will honor seven women for professional 
achievements, community work

Seven women who have achieved success in their professional careers and dedicated themselves to community service will join the prestigious ranks of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber’s “Women of Excellence.” The honorees will be celebrated at the 22nd annual luncheon on Thursday, May 30.

The Chamber received numerous nominations of members and non-members. A committee of previous Women of Excellence award recipients made the selection. 

This year’s honorees are:

Distinguished Career:
Donna Lamkin, Chief Program Officer, Center for Disability Services

Excellence in Management (100+ staff members):
Joan Hayner, CMPE, CEO, CapitalCare Medical Group

Excellence in Management (1-99 staff members):
Maryellen Gilroy, Ed. D., Vice President for Student Affairs, Siena College 

Excellence in Business:
Faith Ann Takes, President, Empire Education Corporation

Excellence in the Professions:
Sabrina Mosseau, BS, RN, OCN, Administrative Director/Medical Oncology & Women’s Health, Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center & Women’s Health Center
St. Peter’s Health Partners

Excellence in Sales or Marketing:
Teresa Fenner Spadafora, Branch Manager, Vice President, First Niagara Bank, NA

Emerging Professional:
Kelly Brown Mateja, Director of Programs and Services, Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc.

“The Women’s Business Council of the Regional Chamber is extremely proud to recognize and honor these exceptional women from our business community,” said Paula A. Heller, SPHR, WBC chair. “This year’s winners are all highly individualistic and multi-faceted in their accomplishments. They truly personify excellence in their careers, their community and the inspiration they bring to everyone around them.”

“This year’s Women of Excellence Award honorees demonstrate strong commitment to work, community service and their families,” said Mark Eagan, Chamber president/CEO. “They have distinguished themselves among their peers and are setting an example for everyone in business by enjoying professional success and personal fulfillment. We are proud to honor them as Women of Excellence.”
