Program Committee

If you’re the kind of person who is eager to participate in programming and promoting the interests, themes and mission of the WBC, then the Program Committee is the place for you. As its title implies, the Program Committee is responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing the WBC’s monthly topics and speakers. Working in close cooperation with the Chamber Liaison, the committee plans WBC topics and formats several months in advance.

Most of Program Committee’s work occurs at the meetings, so attendance is important. There may be some minimal time spent between meetings on follow up phone calls and/or emails. As a member of Program Committee, you may be asked to act as meeting moderator. This is a wonderful way to meet other members and to make you more recognizable to the WBC membership body.

Newsletter Committee

Have you ever wanted to be "Girl Reporter on the Go?" If you like to write, edit, do graphic design/layout, or if you’re just plain nosy and want to learn more about your fellow WBC members, look no further – you’ve found the perfect committee. Duties include collecting information for articles, following up with WBC Sponsors, as well as feature writing/editing. Even if you don’t love to write, being on the Newsletter Committee gives members opportunities to interact with other members on a regular basis and helps develop and strengthen business relationships.

Symposium on Excellence Committee

One of the WBC’s signature events, Symposium Committee is perfect for the “closet” event planner. Committee members are responsible for putting together this annual morning event, which typically includes some type of workshop format and a keynote speaker, both focusing on providing tools for career enhancement and achieving excellence. The committee members help research and identify possible keynote speakers and obtain sponsors.

Women of Excellence Committee

A hallmark event that epitomizes the mission and goals of the WBC, Women of Excellence awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of our very own WBC members. Wouldn’t you love to help plan an event that recognizes outstanding professionals? Winners are selected from the following categories: Emerging Professional, Excellence in Sales, Excellence in the Professions, Excellence in Business, Excellence in Management, and Distinguished Career. Committee members work closely with the Chamber to help with this event.
