The Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber supports the growth of international business in the Capital Region through its active support of the The Tech Valley Global Business Network (TVGBN). The TVGBN assists Capital Region organizations seeking to expand their business into international markets or that are simply interested in learning more about global opportunities.
This partnership, which includes the Chamber of Schenectady County, the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County and the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), aligns the area's premier economic development organizations around the single issue of helping educate and provide opportunities for area companies to connect with others interested in global trade.
Membership is available to all members of the four area chambers and the CEG. Members include manufacturers, service providers, as well as educators and economic developers.
Over the years, the Tech Valley Global Business Network (formerly known as the Global Business Network) has provided practical guidance on such topics as the ins and outs of importing/exporting, setting up foreign entities, identifying markets for various products and international tax planning.
There is also annual awards dinner when “Globies” are handed out to area businesses that demonstrate global trade best practices.
